航海模型是船舶、航海設(shè)備、裝備以及與航海有關(guān)的場景模型的總稱，以艦船模型為主，也稱為艦船模型。迄今為止，航海模型運動在我國開展已有半個世紀的歷史。開展航海模型運動的目的是加強國際技術(shù)交流，提高競技水平，活躍國民文化生活，宣傳和普及海軍、航海、造船和無線電等等科學技術(shù)知識，培養(yǎng)青少年的創(chuàng)新精神和動手技能。航海模型種類繁多，應(yīng)用范圍廣泛。目前，該項目由體育總局、航海模型運動協(xié)會管理，以運動競賽為主要開展方式。
